Zak Bagans was born on April 5th in 1977 in Washington Township, Michigan. Growing up, he had an affinity for horror films and this interest eventually led him to pursue a degree in film from Columbia College Chicago. After graduation, Bagans moved to Las Vegas where he worked as a wedding DJ and video editor before launching his career as a paranormal investigator.

The Rise of Ghost Adventures

In 2004, Bagans produced and starred in a documentary about The Dybbuk Box—an item featured on an episode of The X-Files that had been purported to be cursed—which gained enough attention to catch the eye of the Travel Channel. In 2008 they tapped Zak to host Ghost Adventures, which follows him and his team as they investigate haunted locations around the world. Since then, it has become one of their top rated shows and has even spawned multiple spinoffs such as Most Terrifying Places in America, Paranormal Challenge, Ghost Adventures Live! And many more.

Beyond being an acclaimed TV host and producer for Ghost Adventures, Zak also owns several businesses including The Haunted Museum—a 30-room museum located in Las Vegas that displays cursed items from around the world—as well as several books about paranormal activities.
